5 Love Languages: Words of Affirmation

Leading up to Valentine's Day, I am going to be reviewing the 5 Languages as it relates to STL Heart Cards inspired by the book The Five Love Languages: Based on the this best selling book by Gary Chapman, The 5 Love Languages are: Quality Time, Acts of Service, Words of Affirmation, Physical Touch and Giving Gifts.

Words are such a powerful tool humans have at communicating love and affection for each other.  Words reflect the state of our hearts and minds and the health of our relationships.  Words have the power to change someone else's day and remind them of the love that lives inside of them and radiates out to the rest of the world.

Gary Chapman says the about loving another person whose Love Language is "Words of Affirmation"

"Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important – hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten. Kind, encouraging, and positive words are truly life-giving."

Here are a few ways we can show our loved one whose love language is words of affirmation that we care about them:

1. Text them characteristics that you appreciate about them through the week while you are both away from each other.

2. Tell them "I love you" everyday.

3. Leave notes of appreciation around your house for them to find.

P.S.  If you pick number 3, I highly suggest you consider using my STL Heart Card photographed below:
